Private Sector Participation for Gap Analysis in the Mobility Ecosystem
The Sustainable Mobility Initiative (SMI) and Özyeğin University have established a joint protocol, under which SMI will lead private sector participation in conducting a Gap Analysis aligned with the established objectives. Within this project, SMI will collaborate with various organizations to conduct joint research and publications, sharing analysis results through a database comprising over 450 companies and production chains. Additionally, SMI will undertake the following activities:
- Organize activities and training sessions aimed at developing data-driven solutions for mobility-related issues in mega-cities.
- Invite stakeholders from the public sector to participate in organized events.
- Announce workshops and the Project Summit Meeting on digital platforms.
- Conduct roundtable meetings and conferences.
These efforts are geared towards addressing mobility challenges in urban areas through data-driven solutions, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and disseminating knowledge through various channels.

Establishment of the Sustainable Mobility Institute: Collaboration between Galatasaray University and the Sustainable Mobility Initiative
Our project, conducted in collaboration with Galatasaray University and the Sustainable Mobility Initiative, was approved and implemented by a senate decision on September 22, 2022. The Sustainable Mobility Institute aims to develop sustainable solutions in transportation and mobility by involving a wide range of stakeholders. Embracing a multi-stakeholder approach, the Institute brings together private enterprises, authorities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic circles, and entrepreneurial communities. Operating as an independent entity, the Institute aims to raise awareness about sustainable transportation, particularly among university students, and prepare them for the future.
Goals:
• Big Data Analysis: The Sustainable Mobility Institute aims to analyze big data in transportation and mobility to identify industry trends and develop effective solutions.
• Innovative Mobility Models: Designing environmentally friendly, economical, and user-friendly transportation systems with mobility models developed based on data is among the institute’s top priorities.
• Data Sharing: The Institute aims to promote data sharing for the entire transportation ecosystem to increase collaboration and information flow within the sector.
The Sustainable Mobility Institute is an initiative launched through the joint efforts of Galatasaray University and the Sustainable Mobility Initiative. Through innovation and collaboration projects supporting sustainable transportation, this institute aims to foster the adoption of sustainable mobility by future generations for a more livable world.
